Additions let your customers personalise what they order. Think of asking 'Which sauce would you like?' with a burger, 'How would you like it cooked?' with a steak, or 'How many glasses?' with a bottle of wine.
Additions and addition values
Every addition has two parts:
The addition: the group, or the question your customer answers. For example 'Choose your sauce'. Here you set the name, the description and how many options a customer can or must choose.
The addition values: the options inside that group. For example 'Ketchup', 'Mayonnaise' and 'Andalouse'. Each value has its own name, price, image, allergens and tags.
This is how it fits together on your menu:
Product: Cheeseburger
Addition: Choose your sauce
Addition values: Ketchup, Mayonnaise, Andalouse
Addition: Choose your side
Addition values: Fries, Salad
One addition can be linked to several products. So you set up 'Choose your sauce' once, and use it with all your burgers.
Good to know: In the backoffice, addition values are called Addition options. Both mean the same thing.
Types of additions
Default: a regular addition, like 'Choose your sauce'.
Size: the customer chooses the size of the product. Read how to set up a size addition.
Upsell: extras you offer on top of the product. Read how to set up an upsell addition.
Where to find your additions
Go to Catalogue > Additions. You'll find an overview of all your additions:
How the addition is shown to your customers, like 'How many glasses?'.
Which products use the addition.
A green check mark when the addition has values and can be used.
The Edit button. Click it, then "Go to detail page" to change the addition and its values.
On the detail page, General information holds the settings of the addition. Under Addition options, click > on a value to see all its settings.
An addition is only shown on your menu when it has at least one enabled value. Want customers to go through the additions one at a time? Read how to show additions step by step.
