Selling a product in different sizes, like a small, medium or large drink? Use an addition of the type Size. Each size is an option in the addition, with its own price.
What is an addition type?
Every addition has a type:
Default: a regular addition, like 'Choose your sauce'. New additions get this type.
Size: the customer chooses the size of the product.
Upsell: extras you offer on top of the product.
How to set up a size addition
Go to Catalogue > Additions and find the addition with your sizes. Not connected to a POS and no addition yet? Click Create new addition.
Click Edit, then "Go to detail page".
Under General information, set the type to Size.
Set the Minimum amount and Maximum amount to 1. That way your customer always chooses exactly one size.
Check the options under Addition options: one option per size, like 'Small', 'Medium' and 'Large'. The price of each option is added to the price of the product.
Click Save. Done ✅
Good to know: Most customers pick the same size? Mark it as pre-selected, so they don't have to choose it themselves. Read How to mark addition values as pre-selected
What your customers see on a kiosk
On a kiosk, a size addition gets a screen of its own when the product shows its additions step by step and the size is the first choice to make. Your customer taps a size and goes to the next step right away.
This only happens when the size is required and only one size can be chosen (minimum and maximum amount 1). Otherwise the size is shown as a regular step.
The steps follow the order of the additions on your product, so put the size first. Read how to show additions step by step
Connected to a POS?
If orderBilly is connected to your POS, the size addition and its options come from your POS. You set the type to Size in orderBilly, following the steps above.
The prices of the sizes come from your POS as well. Want to change the price of a size? Change it in your POS. Read How to change the price of an addition value
