What's new at Billy: September 2026

In September we gave organisations more control over their teams and venues, made kiosks easier to brand, and added a new tool for designing your own receipts.

Here are the highlights:

Design your own receipts

A block-by-block receipt designer. Build receipts, kitchen tickets and kiosk tickets from blocks: logo, order details, lines, totals, payment, free text, barcode and cut. You control each block's order, visibility and formatting for every paper width. Link a template to a cloud printer or a kiosk, and test-print it with sample data first. Ask our support team to turn it on for your venue.

For your guests

Branding set once, applied everywhere. Kiosk logo settings now live in your theme, with an optional separate image for the intro screen. Every kiosk on that theme follows them, and you can still override them for an event or a single device. The order confirmation screen can also show a branded header image.

Your words on screen. You can now reword the table number, phone number and "Proceed to payment" steps per venue and per language.

Smoother at the counter. Guests see friendly, translated messages instead of technical errors. Table numbers entered on the kiosk now match the right table in your POS, and receipts for orders paid partly with a voucher show the correct amount on both the total and the barcode.

For venue and organisation managers

More control for your organisation. Permissions are now split by area, such as venues, brands, themes, users and reporting. You can create custom roles with exactly the permissions you need and pick one when inviting someone new. Features like Food Halls, Places and Reports can be switched on per organisation.

More tools for Food Halls and Places. Food Halls have their own selling tools and service fees, so you can set up discounts once for the whole group. Each venue in a Place can now have its own menu.

Smarter selling tools. You can pause an upsell and turn it back on later without rebuilding it.

Kitchen timing on your terms. The time guests have to order can now be set separately from the lead time the kitchen gets. Live order screens can hide the "more info" button, and anyone with device management rights can add a new kiosk themselves.

Security and reliability

We strengthened account security. Password reset links now expire after 60 minutes, resetting your password signs you out on all devices, and how long you stay logged in now depends on your account type. We also fixed a range of bugs, including cloud printer and receipt issues and how promotions are applied when a reward covers several units.
