Follow these steps to configure your Newland FM3080 barcode scanner for use with orderBilly.
Normally the scanner is working out from the box.
If something is not working as expected, please follow the steps below.
For each step, simply scan the animated barcodes in the order shown.
đĄ Tip: Each barcode is displayed for 2 seconds. Wait for your scanner to confirm the scan before continuing. When you see âthe endâ, that step is complete.
1. Factory reset your scanner
Reset the scanner to its factory settings.
Scan each barcode shown in the animation.
2. Configure the scanner as a keyboard
Configure the scanner to behave like a USB keyboard.
This allows scanned barcode data to be entered directly into the device connected to your scanner.
3. Select the Belgian keyboard layout
Configure the scanner to use the Belgian keyboard layout.
This ensures scanned characters are interpreted correctly.
Make sure the keyboard settings on your kiosk are also setup as Belgian keyboard.
4. Add Enter after each scan
Configure the scanner to automatically send an Enter keystroke after scanning a barcode.
This means you wonât need to manually press Enter after every scan.
If you notice performance issues, try one or more of the options below:
5. Configure the scanning delay
Now configure the scannerâs performance and delay settings.
Scan only the barcodes of which delay you want to setup.
6. Enable Fast Mode
Configure the scannerâs Fast Mode settings.
Scan only the barcode with 'Fast Mode on' to turn on and vice versa.
Wait for âthe endâ before moving to the final step.
7. Configure Sense Mode
Try to put the scanner in Sense Mode to have better scanning results.
Once you see âthe endâ, your scanner configuration is complete. đ
Test your scanner
After completing some of the steps, test the scanner.
Open a text field on the connected device.
Scan a regular barcode.
Check that the barcode appears correctly.
Confirm that an Enter command is automatically sent after the barcode.
If this works, your Newland FM3080 is ready to use with orderBilly.
