Before setting up discounts, make sure Lightspeed L-Series and orderBilly are already connected.
The goal is to create one general discount product in Lightspeed. orderBilly can then use that single Lightspeed discount product to send any discount configured in orderBilly to Lightspeed.
This applies to both:
Automatic discounts created in orderBilly
Discount codes created in orderBilly
Step 1 — Create a discount product in Lightspeed
Log in to the Lightspeed L-Series back office.
Go to Products.
Check whether there is already a category called Discounts.
In most cases, this category already exists by default.
If it does not exist, create a new category called Discounts.
In the Discounts category, click the purple + Add discount button.
Configure the discount product as follows:
Field | Value |
Name |
|
PLU | Leave as generated by Lightspeed |
Discount |
|
Color | Leave the default |
Visible | Checked / yes |
Discount type |
|
Discountable to | Leave the default |
Barcode | Empty |
Step 2 — Link the discount product in orderBilly
Go to the orderBilly back office.
Go to Settings → POS → Connection parameters.
Find the default Discount product setting.
Select the BILLY discount product you created in Lightspeed.
If BILLY is not available in the list, synchronise orderBilly with Lightspeed first, then try again.
Result
Once this is configured, orderBilly will use the BILLY discount product for every discount that is set up in orderBilly.
This means discounts will be correctly applied to the order in orderBilly, and Lightspeed will also be able to calculate the discount on the order and close the ticket automatically.
