What are vouchers?
Vouchers can be used as gift cards or to provide attendees with a voucher at an event. Each voucher comes with a code that can be used to pay for products or services, or to receive a discount. You can create vouchers yourself in the backoffice, or let people purchase them directly through the orderBilly widget on your website.
How to create vouchers?
When you navigate to wallet, click on ‘Vouchers’.
Create a Voucher Group:
Click on "Create a Voucher Group."
Name the group (e.g., ‘vouchers exp 07/25’ or ‘vouchers 'name' 2024’). The structure of the name is entirely up to you.
Create Vouchers: create single or multiple vouchers
Internal name: Give a name for the vouchers.
Voucher amount: Set the value (amount) of the vouchers.
Topup Mode: Select the topup mode you would like to use.
Off: topup is not possible.
Requires User: topup is possible, but a logged-in user is required.
Owner only: the voucher can only be topupped by the user who claimed it.
Public: everyone can topup the voucher.
Number of vouchers: Specify how many vouchers you want to generate - Only for Multiple vouchers.
Generate Code Manually: choose whether you want to generate the code or determine the code yourself.
Prefix: Choose a prefix for the voucher codes (e.g., if you choose the prefix BE for Business Event, a voucher code will look like BE-94KFD03). This makes it easier to recognize voucher codes.
Expiry Date: Set the expiration date.
How to use Voucher codes.
After creating these voucher codes, you need to set these up as a payment method.
This can be done via Settings - Payment methods:
Click the 'Show more' button and look for the 'Vouchers' type.
Click the 'Add' button next to the Voucher payment method.
The following screen will appear:
Enabled: activate or deactivate this payment method.
Make payment method exclusive to these user roles: determine which user roles can use this voucher code, you can set up these user roles via Setting - User roles
Use this payment method only on specific menus: select the menus to which the voucher can be applied.
The customer will see the following screen after placing an order.
Select the Voucher payment method and submit the voucher code.
