Sometimes the choice is already made for your customer. For example, your burger menu always comes with fries, or a cocktail is always served with a specific garnish. Pre-select those options and lock the addition: your customers see exactly what's included, but they can't change it.
You do this in two steps: first you pre-select the options, then you lock the addition.
Step 1: Pre-select the options
Go to Catalogue > Additions and find the addition in the list.
Click Edit, then "Go to detail page".
Scroll to Addition options and click > on the option that should be included.
Switch on Default selection. Repeat this for every option that should be included.
Click Save.
Step 2: Lock the addition
On the same detail page, go to General information.
Switch on Read-only.
Click Save. Done ✅
Your customers now see the addition with the pre-selected options, but they can't change them.
Good to know: Read-only locks the whole addition, not one option. Want customers to start from a suggestion they can still change? Only pre-select the option and leave Read-only off. Read How to mark addition values as pre-selected.
Make sure the minimum and maximum amount of the addition fit the options you pre-selected. For example: 1 pre-selected option goes with a minimum and maximum amount of 1. Read How to set a minimum and maximum number of choices (min, max and multimax).
Connected to a POS?
If orderBilly is connected to your POS, the addition and its options come from your POS. Pre-selecting and locking are set in orderBilly, so you can follow the steps above.
The pre-selected options are sent to your POS together with the order, just like any choice your customer makes. So your team sees exactly what was included.
