How to add or modify product options / additions / modifiers

A guide to help you with all your questions about product modifiers / options / additions when linked with a POS

Updated over 7 months ago

Product options are an easy way to let your customer modify and personnalise their order. You can determine the product options, their prices and the links with the base products.
Since orderBilly takes all this information from the POS, you'll have to add and modify these product options directly in the POS and then sync afterwards.

  1. Go to your Lightspeed backoffice and select 'products' > 'modifiers'

  2. Then you can either create a new modifyer or change an existing one.

Adding options can be done by using the '+ New Modifier' button. There you can also determine to give a specific plus price to a certain modifier.

When you select 'Default option', this option will be automatically selected in orderBilly.

  3. Modifier options - Multiselect
If you want multiple options to be selected at once (toppings for a pizza for example), you must switch on 'Multiselect' in the modifier settings. Then you can determine if there should be a required minimum amount selected and a required maximum amount selected. If there's no maximum amount of options than should be ordered, you can select 'no max value'.

Once installed and saved, orderBilly will automatically gain these options after a product sync.

Important to know is that you have to maintain a modifier structure in Lightspeed so the modifier will appear correctly in orderBilly. Do you want your customers to have multiple 'option groups' linked to a product, then you have to make multiple modifiers and link those to the same product. OrderBilly will then show these 2 or more modifiers with the same product.

An example; If you sell pizza's and you want your customers to choose between the type of crust and toppings, you should make 2 modifiers in Lightspeed.

  1. Modifier with name 'Choose your crust' and options

    1. Normal crust

    2. Cheesy crust + 1€

    3. Napolitean crust +2€
Since only one of these options can be picked, Multiselect should be switched off. The option 'Normal crust' will then be automatically selected as first option in orderBilly. You can always activate 'Default option' in Lightspeed at Cheesy crust for example, if you want the Cheesy crust to be picked by default.

  2. Modifier with name 'Choose your toppings' and options

    1. Salame + 0,5€

    2. Prosciutto + 0,5€

    3. Pineapple + 0,2€ (please don't)

    4. Rocket salad + 0,2€

    5. Olives + 0,3€

    6. Grated parmesan cheese + 0,5€
      And many more possible
Here multiple options can be picked so you activate Multiselect.

In the example below, we've activated Multiselect and installed '0' as minimum value. This means customers are not obliged to choose a topping. 5 is the max value which means a customer can choose up to 5 toppings.
