Updated over a week ago

Overview

Busy Mode Alerts notify customers of extended waiting times during high demand without stopping orders. Configure alerts at the venue, menu, or category level to manage customer expectations and maintain ordering capabilities.

Initiate Busy Mode Setup

To temporarily manage customer expectations during peak times, activate a busy mode alert. Select "Enable busy mode" from the dashboard, then choose "Configure" to open the busy alert setup.

Alert Configuration

Select Alert Scope

Define the scope of your busy mode alert by selecting "Venue," "Menu," or "Category" in the "Add a busy alert" modal. Choose "Venue" to apply the alert to all menus, or select "Menu" or "Category" for more granular control over which items display the notification.

Specify Alert Duration

Control how long the busy mode alert remains active by specifying a duration. Select a predefined duration like "15 min," "30 min," "1 hour," "Until tomorrow," or "Indefinitely." Choose "Custom" to set a specific end time for the alert.

Apply Category-Specific Alert

Target specific menu categories experiencing delays to avoid affecting your entire menu. If you selected the "Category" tab, choose the relevant categories, such as "Cocktails," to display the busy alert only for those items.

Saving Configuration

Save Busy Mode Alert

Activate the configured busy mode alert by selecting "Save." This makes the alert live for your customers.

Confirm Alert Addition

Verify the busy mode alert is active by looking for a confirmation message. A message like "The alert was added successfully" indicates customers will now see the notification regarding longer waiting times.
