With OrderBilly, activating tips is simple - we didn’t forget about them! You can easily turn tips on or off in your menu, with several ways to set it up.
Go to Menu > Settings, then scroll down to the 'Tips' section.
Has Tips: You can disable this option if you do not want to offer tips for a particular menu.
Allow a customer to choose his own tip amount: Enabling this option allows customers to enter a custom tip amount in a free text field.
Add an auto-generated round up tip amount option: When enabled, an extra tip option is automatically shown that lets the customer round up their total to the nearest amount.
Show as pop-up: Enable this to display the tip selection as a pop-up instead of showing it inline on the order page.
Fixed Tipping Options: Here, you can set up up to three standard tip options. For each option, enter an Amount and use the Percentage toggle to choose whether it should be a fixed amount (in €) or a percentage of the total basket value. Use the Add option button to add a new tipping option (up to the maximum of 3), and the trash icon to remove one.
Sending Tip Amounts to Your POS
By default, the tip amount a customer leaves is not included in the notes printed on your POS receipts. You can change this under Settings → POS, in the Receipt notes customisation section.
Toggle Tip amount on to include the tip in the receipt notes that are sent to your POS. This way, your staff can see the tip directly on the printed ticket without having to look it up separately.
Keep in mind that this only affects what is printed in the receipt notes — how the tip is processed financially depends on your POS integration.
