Billy prefers to collaborate with well-known kiosk hardware suppliers.
This ensures smooth onboarding, high-quality standards, and remote support.
However, it is possible to use your current kiosk hardware with Billy software.
A kiosk or ordering terminal generally consists of two parts:
Display with touch functionality
Mini-computer that controls everything.
The mini-computer runs an operating system that must meet the following requirements:
Windows: Windows 10 and above.
Android: A factory-reset Android 7 and above with Google Certification and a recent security patch installed (<1Y old)
My hardware is compatible
If the operating system of the kiosk computer meets these requirements, a Mobile Device Management (MDM) system can be installed. This allows us to install Billy software and provide remote support.
Important: Billy only provides support through the MDM system selected by us.
My hardware is not compatible
If the operating system of the mini-computer does not meet the requirements, a new mini-computer can be installed (available via Billy).
Important: It must be possible to connect the mini-computer via HDMI (for the screen) and USB (for the touch functionality). Check with your kiosk hardware supplier to confirm if this is possible with your current device.
⚠️ For experts:
Billy’s kiosk software is a URL that can be loaded in most modern browsers.
If you believe the URL can still be made accessible on your current hardware without meeting the above requirements, Billy will not provide any support in that case.
